Bitch, please

So in German (100; beginning level), we had to work with partners on a simple speaking exercise.

Now, I’ve taken German for four years in high school, one year in eighth grade, and have been to Germany twice. I am in this class so I can take German again and not worry about things I might have missed out on, if I had taken the placement test and been put into the range I might be most comfortable at. That’s what happened with Japanese, and it turns out they had learned SO much stuff in J101 and 102 that I hadn’t learned in highschool, so I was sometimes very lost.

So, back to class story. There’s an uneven number of people in our class, so three of us ended up working together. Clearly, for one girl, this was her first time learning German. With the other girl, I wasn’t sure. Either she learns relatively fast, or she’d taken German a little before. So, clearly, everyone in the class (except myself (according to the teacher)) had taken the placement test and been put into the this class (G100), whether they’d taken German before or not. I, however, had pretended to have taken the test, so I wouldn’t have to be kicked up a level or two. So we were doing this speaking exercise, and clearly I know wtf I’m doing, and this other girl (the one who might be a fast learner (or had taken German but was bad enough at it to get placed in this class) is telling me what to say, how to say it, how to pronounce it, and what it means (none of which I asked for, thanks), or sometimes even saying, “Gooooood,” afterwards, as though I were some little child who was yearning for approval and a golden star on her fucking math homework from her second grade teacher. I just wanted to say, ”Bitch, please. I could have tested out of this class, thanks. Why are you here? Oh, that’s right. You sucked so much you actually did test into the beginner’s level. Fuck off.”
